My entry in the ClaytonUtz Art Award in Queensland "Sepik Spirits" 62cmx82cm professiona
After my travels in PNG I was inspired to paint many of the moments I glimpsed when traveling to remote villages. I particularly enjoyed my trip up the Sepik River passing villages & meeting the locals - Australia's closest neighbors. I have an extensive artifact collection acquired over many decades so these PNG masks, shells & objects often appear in my paintings.

2 paintings finalists in Queensland Regional Art Awards
I loved my 4WD experience driving the Old Telegraph Track Cape York crossing creeks over rough terrain and rocks - a must for those that like adventure. The old telegraph poles that once carried the lines linking Australia to the world now lie useless on the ground. The red red soil blankets the ground and the track making it hard to navigate. I loved it all.

FINALIST in Queensland Regional Art Awards -again
So pleased my painting GIANT TERMITE MOUNDS THE OLD TELEGRAPH TRACK CAPE YORK is a finalist in the Queensland Regional Art Awards. The OLD TELEGRAPH TRACK is one of the best 4WD adventures in far north Qld and inspired many paintings. the soil IS as red as I have made it & the termite mounds -ant hills- are HUGE !!! VOTE for my painting -please:) https://flyingarts.org.au/events/peoples-choice-voting-queensland-regional-art-awards-2018/

Glimpses of Life
Travelling and working in the Pacific Islands & PNG I glimpsed & sketched many different people as they went about their daily life in the villages. Later some of these sketches became larger paintings -mostly in oils on canvas. They bring back many happy memories of my time in the Pacific Islands.
