I now have a 'winter' studio in far, far North Queensland at historic Cooktown. My contact with the local aboriginal communities has seen a change in my art and palette and has resulted in a new series of paintings inspired by stories I have heard from aboriginal friends. New stories of reconciliation and the displacement of tribes in the 1940's brought strong emotions that can be seen in these new paintings.
The caves I have visited, with their aboriginal cave paintings and the colours of the far north Queensland bush have resulted in some dramatic images.
