My free standing Totems are in Praise of Women everywhere. They are obviously influenced by my love of the Pacific Islands and their people. Over the past 30 years I have travelled to, and lived in the Pacific region. I have been priveleged to glimpse through a small window in time a rich and varied pool of different cultures that (like ours) are rapidly changing forever.
The female form is amoungst the oldest and most widespread object of visual arts and 'Woman', as the deliverer of life, links many cultures. What emerges in my new work - both Totems and paintings - is an impression of female forms - mostly naked, without the contstraints of clothes and in harmony with nature.
