The figure has featured all through my artistic development since my early days as a Haute Couture and costume designer. My love of form continues as I constantly challenge my artistic endeavours and return again and again for inspiration to the most perfect form - the human body. For me drawing and painting are one. Drawing from life hones my powers of observation and is often the stimulus for explorations into composition, colour and texture.
Creatively I start with the live model, but then memory, imagination and the medium take over, usually resulting in an explosion of colour, vitality and life!
